Denver CO Life

Denver, CO

Denver, CO, has everything to offer. It has a great view, a low cost of living, wonderful cuisine, and great safety and health care. Since I’m getting older, safety and health care is my utmost concern. In fact, this is the exact reason why I moved to Denver after my retirement. Denver is safer than in other cities. If you compare the crime rates, Denver has lower cases than other cities of the same size. Then, the health care system is exceptional. The city ranked sixth in the nation for having an excellent healthcare system. Denver is a lovely place. You’ll feel safe and secure.

Some Denver area hotels dim the lights and wait for the creditors to come knocking

“The lockdowns are having a devastating effect on the hotel industry,” said Eric Holtze, co-CEO at Denver-based Stout Street Hospitality, which recently modified $51.3 million in loans on the Magnolia Hotel Denver. “This has gone on way longer than we had hoped.” Read more here

The coronavirus pandemic brought a lot of trouble to different industries, and hotel industries are among the most affected. Since the pandemic, the tourists and the people that check in the hotels go down. Because of the pandemic result, there comes empty rooms and discounted rates all over the country. The lockdown had a devastating effect on the hotel industry, and this goes for a long time. For example, in April 2020, the Magnolia hotels’ occupancy goes down by 10% and the staff was cut deeply, and the managers were asked to take a day to day chores, and the general manager started running the front desk. The percentage of booking decreased, and the demand for hotel rooms completely collapsed. I hope things will change this 2021.

Colorado State Capitol in Denver, CO

Colorado State Capitol in Denver, CO, features the Denver skyline and the beautiful gold bell-shaped dome. The State Capitol is located in the Mile-High City and at the point of 5, 280 feet above the sea level. It’s a magnificent and beautiful capitol building, especially the gold dome; it’s super impressive. But around the capitol is not so pleasing because there are plenty of homeless people and bums. Parking can also be hard at times as there are no vast parking spaces. I really like to take pictures of the nice dome in Denver’s Colorado State Capitol. Tours are not yet so much available because of the pandemic, but it’s best to check out its website for announcements.
